| Just a few fun pictures...
At this point, the natto sushi is in Jamie's bowl, and we are still being very reasonable with him convincing him with all kinds of persuasive words why he should soak up all the culture and experience he can get. Meanwhile, Jamie is making all kinds of excuses...
The girls are showing how it's done! Arukou yesuno michiwo....
Addison squares off with Monica Gani. The eventual champion, with her game face on, shows us why she's a winner. |

| Ok, here's the first update I sent out. Please forgive the bad grammer and misspellings.
Konnichiwa (hello),
Well we're finally here, and I wanted to give you all a quick update and let you know that we made it here safely with the team intact. It's my first time out of the country so I'm still a little disoriented right now but I thank God for giving me this opportunity.
We won't be stating the Joy Joy VBS till next week so right now we're finishing preping and getting situated. Yesterday we left LAX at 1:50 pm local time and got to Japan at 5:20 pm local time (1:30 am LAX) by the time we had gotten to the church, had dinner, been assigned our host families (Tim Jin, Jamie Andersen, and I are with the Okatas), and finally got to sleep it was after 10:00 pm local time (7:00am LAX) so most of us had been up for over 24 hours but God is good and He took care of us.
We're going to be spending the next few days finishing up the preparations for Joy Joy so you can be praying for us that we would keep our eyes on God and not get too focused on what we need to do and that if its God's will, some of the kids or parents would come to Him because of the VBS.
I wanted to post some pictures but technical problems won't let me I hope to be able to send some next time.
In Him,
Timothy Ushijima |
